Misshapen Nose

The nose is one of the most central features of the face, and for those who are less than satisfied with the shape, size or straightness of their nose, this can be something that causes a great deal of anxiety due to the prominence of this feature.

A misshapen nose – also known as a bump on the nose, crooked nose or dorsal hump – can have a number of different underlying causes. Most commonly, the cause would be either genetic, or as a result of trauma.

About this condition

Where genetics is the cause, a misshapen or disproportionately large nose will often become more pronounced in adulthood once we are fully developed. If a misshapen nose can be attributed to injury or trauma, this is because the formation of calcium deposits promotes the appearance of bone growth and may result in the appearance of a “bump” or extended bridge.

Aesthetic medicine has come a long way in the last decade, and where a large, misshapen or crooked nose would once have required surgical intervention, dermal fillers are now are now a very suitable alternative to temporarily re-shape the nose making it appear smaller, as well as filling in the hollows and smoothing the profile of the nose so that it appears straighter.

The Non-Surgical nose job can be performed in as little as 15 minutes and is a fantastic alternative to its surgical sister.
