Teoxane babyGLOW skin booster treatment in Manchester

Teoxane babyGLOW™ vs Profhilo: Which Skin Booster Is Right for You?

Teoxane babyGLOW™ and Profhilo are the two skin boosters people in Manchester ask us to compare most often. Both are injectable, both are built on hyaluronic acid, and both improve skin quality rather than shape. The difference is what each one is best at: Profhilo is for firmness and laxity, babyGLOW™ is for glow, hydration and surface quality. This guide explains how each works, what it costs, how long it lasts, and how we decide which to recommend at NassifMD Medical Spa, MediaCityUK.

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable bio-remodelling treatment. It contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid of any injectable, in a form that spreads through the skin rather than sitting where it is placed. Over the weeks after treatment it stimulates the skin's own collagen and elastin, which is why it is the better choice when the problem is laxity, crepey skin or early loss of firmness.

Profhilo does not add volume and does not change the shape of your face. It is given as a course of two sessions, four weeks apart, with a maintenance session about every six months.

What is Teoxane babyGLOW™?

Teoxane babyGLOW™ is a newer skin booster from the makers of Teosyal fillers. It combines hyaluronic acid with amino acids, antioxidants and vitamins, and is placed with a micro-injection technique inspired by highlighting in make-up. The aim is skin that is better hydrated, smoother and more radiant, so it suits dull, dry or tired-looking skin and anyone who wants the "no make-up" glow without any change to their features.

babyGLOW™ is usually given as a course of three sessions, three to four weeks apart.

Which is better, babyGLOW™ or Profhilo?

Neither is better. They answer different problems, and at your consultation we recommend the one that matches your skin.

  • Choose Profhilo if your main concern is skin that feels loose, crepey or less firm than it was, on the face, neck or hands. It is the stronger choice for elasticity and for early signs of ageing from the mid-thirties onwards.
  • Choose babyGLOW™ if your skin is dull, dehydrated or uneven in texture and you want radiance. It is popular before weddings and events and with younger patients looking for prevention.
  • Have both if you want firmness and glow. We often run a Profhilo course first and add babyGLOW™ once the skin has firmed, or alternate them through the year.

How much do babyGLOW™ and Profhilo cost in Manchester?

At NassifMD, babyGLOW™ is £300 a session or £800 for a course of three. Profhilo is £350 a session, £585 for the standard course of two, or £850 for three. Both are listed on our price list, and your practitioner confirms the plan before you book treatment.

How long does each one last?

Both last around six months after a full course, varying with your age, skin, sun exposure and skincare. Most patients book a single maintenance session when they notice the effect fading, rather than repeating the full course.

Is Profhilo worth it? Is babyGLOW™ worth it?

They are worth it when they are matched to the right skin. Profhilo on loose, crepey skin gives a visible improvement in firmness that fillers cannot. babyGLOW™ on dull, dehydrated skin gives a glow that shows most in natural light and in photographs. Neither is worth it for lines that need an anti-wrinkle treatment or for lost volume that needs dermal filler, and we will tell you if that is the case.

Downtime and side effects

Both treatments leave small bumps at the injection points that settle within a day or two, and occasional bruising. You can go back to work the same day. We ask you to avoid make-up for a few hours, and strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol for 24 hours.

Can you combine skin boosters with other treatments?

Yes. Skin boosters sit well alongside HydraFacial, MOXI laser and polynucleotides. We leave about two weeks between injectables and laser, microneedling or peels, and plan the order at your consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have babyGLOW™ and Profhilo at the same time?

Not in the same session. We usually complete one course first, then add the other, or alternate them through the year.

Which is better for under the eyes?

Neither is designed for the eye area. For dark circles and crepey under-eye skin we use Teoxane Redensity 1 or polynucleotides, and for hollows tear trough filler. See our under-eye page.

Which is better for the neck?

Profhilo, in most cases, because neck skin tends to be crepey and lax rather than dull. babyGLOW™ can be added for texture.

At what age should I start?

There is no set age. babyGLOW™ is often chosen from the late twenties for prevention and glow. Profhilo tends to suit the mid-thirties onwards, when firmness starts to change.
