Polynucleotides

A targeted approach to hair loss

A targeted approach to hair loss

Polynucleotides treatments (PN) are gaining popularity as an anti-aging treatment due to its ease of administration and minimal downtime. It is a polynucleotide injectable bio-stimulant that promotes collagen and elastin production in the skin’s dermis, with its polynucleotide derived from fish DNA.

As a biostimulator, polynucleotides are bio-compatible and encourages fibroblasts (collagen-producing cells) in the dermis to boost collagen and elastin production, resulting in tighter and lifted skin.

Polynucleotides, which are also used to create DNA, are bio-engineered to stimulate receptors on fibroblast cells in the skin’s dermis. This stimulation activates fibroblasts into type I collagen and elastin-producing myofibroblast cells, addressing the root cause of skin laxity and providing long-lasting, deep skin rejuvenation.

Antioxidant and Hydrating Effects

Polynucleotides also offers antioxidant benefits by acting as a free radical scavenger, protecting collagen fibers, rejuvenated skin, and the skin’s epidermis from further damage. Additionally, polynucleotides have a high affinity for water, allowing for deep and lasting hydration and hydro lifting of the skin, resulting in a firm and moisturised feel.

Who Can Benefit from Polynucleotides Treatment?

PN is suitable for those who:

  • Seek a long-lasting anti-aging solution
  • Have acne scars
  • Experience dry or dull skin
  • Are concerned about visible stretch marks

Expected Results from Polynucleotides

  • Firmer, more youthful-looking skin
  • Enhanced skin elasticity and reduced sagging
  • Increased collagen production for sustained skin firmness
  • Improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

Polynucleotides vs. Fillers

Polynucleotides are not a filler; it consists of polynucleotide, while fillers are typically made of hyaluronic acid (HA). Fillers address volume loss issues associated with ageing, while Polynucleotides focuses on rejuvenating and hydrating the skin. Polynucleotides can be used alongside dermal fillers for complementary effects.

Benefits of Polynucleotides treatments

Polynucleotide treatments offer several benefits for skin and tissue rejuvenation:

  • Enhanced Skin Rejuvenation: Stimulates collagen production and improves skin elasticity, reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Improved Skin Texture and Tone: Helps even out skin tone and texture, addressing issues like discolouration and roughness.
  • Increased Hydration: Boosts skin hydration by attracting and retaining moisture within the skin.
  • Accelerated Healing: Promotes faster recovery and repair of damaged tissues, beneficial for post-procedural or traumatic skin.
  • Minimal Downtime: Typically involves a quick recovery period with little to no downtime.
  • Natural Process: Utilises natural components to support the body’s own regenerative processes, reducing the risk of adverse reactions.
  • Versatile Applications: Effective for a range of concerns, including signs of ageing, acne scars, and general skin revitalisation.

Comparing Polynucleotides with Other Treatments

Polynucleotides vs. Profhilo: Profhilo contains pure concentrated hyaluronic acid, while Polynucleotides is a bio-stimulant gel made from polynucleotides. Profhilo provides excellent hydration, while Polynucleotides may be more suitable for areas with thinner skin. Results for Polynucleotides typically last longer than Profhilo.

Polynucleotides vs. Rejuran: Both Polynucleotides and Rejuran are made from polynucleotide, but Polynucleotides has a higher concentration. They can be combined for better results, with Polynucleotides administered deeper into the skin and Rejuran more superficially.

Polynucleotides vs. Botox: Botox is a neurotoxic protein that causes muscle paralysis, making it more effective for dynamic wrinkles. Polynucleotides, with its bio-stimulant properties, can help with static or fine wrinkles.

FAQs

Polynucleotides are ideal for improving scalp health, hair density, hair health and helping to improve hair loss.

Polynucleotide treatments may not be suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active skin infections or inflammation in the treatment area, or certain medical conditions affecting healing. A full consultation will always be carried out to ensure the treatment is safe and appropriate for you.

For best results, we usually recommend a course of 2–3 treatments spaced a few weeks apart. Your practitioner will create a personalised plan based on your skin concerns and goals.

There is minimal downtime. You may experience some small bumps, redness, or slight swelling at the injection sites, which typically settle within 24–48 hours. Most clients can return to normal activities shortly after treatment.
